We care about the people who reach out to us, and that includes caring for your information. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect through mybiomedicalclinic.com, our forms, calls and texts, and what we do with it.
Your health records are handled separately
Bio Medical is a covered entity under HIPAA. Your clinical records are protected under HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices. If this policy and that Notice ever disagree about your health records, the Notice controls.
Please don't send detailed medical information through the website or by text. We'll ask what we need privately, by phone or at your visit.
What we collect
- What you tell us: name, mobile number, email, the area that's bothering you, the day that works for you, and anything else you type into a form.
- What your browser tells us: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, the link or ad that brought you here, and approximate location, through cookies and similar tools.
- What ad platforms tell us: if you come from an ad (for example on Facebook or Instagram), Meta may tell us which ad it was.
How we use it
- To call or text you back, answer your questions, and schedule your visit.
- To send appointment reminders and, if you've agreed, marketing texts and clinic updates.
- To take payment you authorize. Promo visits are paid by card over the phone. Refunds go back to the original card.
- To understand how our site is used and make it better.
- To measure our ads and show them to people who may find them helpful.
- To meet legal and licensing requirements.
We don't sell your personal information.
Who helps us
We use trusted service providers to run our website and forms (Votel/HighLevel), texting (Spruce), scheduling and patient records (Prompt), and card payments (CardPointe). They may use your information only to provide their service to us. We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the practice.
Cookies, the Meta Pixel and analytics
Our site uses cookies and similar tools, including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and our website platform's visitor tracking, to count visits and see which ads bring people here. We do not use Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager. The Meta Pixel records page views only. It is not used on our forms or thank-you pages, and we do not share any health information with Meta.
Your choices: you can block or delete cookies in your browser, adjust ad settings at facebook.com/adpreferences, and opt out of interest-based ads at optout.aboutads.info.
Text messages (SMS)
- When you give us your mobile number and check the consent box, or text us first, you agree to receive texts from Bio Medical about your request, appointments and services, and marketing messages such as offers and clinic updates.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to stop at any time. Reply HELP for help, or call 337-485-4349.
- Consent to texts is not a condition of any purchase or service.
- We never share or sell your mobile number or text consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How long we keep it
- Inquiry and lead information (form requests, call and text records with people who are not yet patients): up to 3 years.
- SMS consent and opt-out records: 4 years, so we can always show you agreed, or that we honored your STOP.
- Patient records: as Louisiana law and the Board of Chiropractic Examiners require, under our Notice of Privacy Practices.
How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. No internet transmission is perfectly secure, which is one more reason to keep health details out of forms and texts.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your contact information, or to stop marketing contact. Call 337-485-4349 or email dr.brettg@mybiomedicalclinic.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
Children
Our site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information online. A parent or guardian arranges care for minors.
Data breaches
If a breach involves your personal information, we'll notify you as Louisiana law (La. R.S. 51:3071 et seq.) and, for health records, HIPAA require.
Other sites
Links to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps, The Vitality Collective and others follow those sites' own privacy policies.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll post it here with a new effective date.
